  Executive Director
Felice J. Levine

Felice J. Levine is Executive Director of the American Educational Research Association. Previously she was Executive Officer of the American Sociological Association. She was also Director of the Law and Social Science Program at the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Senior Research Social Scientist at the American Bar Foundation. She holds A.B., A.M., and Ph.D. degrees in sociology and psychology from the University of Chicago.

Vivian L. Gadsden

Vivian L. Gadsden, William T. Carter Professor of Child Development and Education at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, serves as president of the American Educational Research Association. Her term as president began at the conclusion of AERA’s 2016 Annual Meeting.

 Deborah Loewenberg Ball

Deborah Loewenberg Ball, the William H. Payne Collegiate Professor in education and an Arthur F. Thurnau professor at the University of Michigan, has been voted president-elect of the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Her term as president begins on May 1, 2017, at the conclusion of AERA’s 2017 Annual Meeting.

 Jeannie Oakes

Jeannie Oakes, director of the Ford Foundation’s programs in Educational Equity and Scholarship, serves as president of the American Educational Research Association in its centennial year. Her term as president ended at the conclusion of AERA’s 2016 Annual Meeting, after one year of service as president.
