Dr. Kevin Kumashiro, University of San Francisco, is an expert on educational policy, school reform, teacher preparation, and educational equity and social justice. He has a wide-ranging list of national and international accomplishments as a scholar, educator, leader, and advocate. His scholarly work supports in-service and preservice teacher education programs in problematizing commonsense approaches to teaching; he examines everyday teaching and learning decisions to design education that is anti-oppressive and affirming of social justice. Dr. Kumashiro strives to leverage rigorous research and scholarship to raise public consciousness, reframe the debate, and impact policy and practice in education.
