Welcome to Division E!
I consider Division E to be one of the most vibrant divisions within AERA. Although one of the smaller divisions, we nonetheless represent a wide range of diverse research areas and methods. Our members conduct research across the lifespan, from infancy to old age, and serving a spectrum of educational, community and societal organizations. I am especially proud of the consistent focus on issues that pertain to social justice and social change.
Check out our newsletter at http://aeraenews.wordpress.com to find out some of the work of our Division. If you will be in Chicago for the 2015 Annual Meeting, be sure to join us at our Business Meeting on Saturday, April 18, from 6:30-8 in the Sheraton Hotel, Ballroom Level, Sheraton IV. We have a lively graduate student poster session and appetizer reception, present awards to outstanding dissertation and distinguished research award recipients, and conclude with our second annual DivE In Seed Grant Competition, where 5 researchers will pitch their research idea for 3-minutes each and the audience will vote on the winner of the seed grant.
I would love to hear from you and welcome suggestions for other Division E initiatives. Please contact me at [email protected] if you’d like to be involved in Division E!
