We held our 2016 SIG business meeting on Sunday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. in Convention Center Level One Room 102A.
The Michael Pyryt Collaboration Award was awarded to Scott J. Peters, Ph.D., Associate Professor University of Wisconsin, Whitewater and Kenneth G. Engerrand, JD, President and Director, Brown Sims, P.C. for their paper, Equity and Excellence: Proactive Efforts in the Identification of Underrepresented Students for Gifted and Talented Services. Graduate Student Travel Awards were presented to Danika Maddocks - The University of Texas at Austin, SooHyun Yi -Purdue University, and Sue Hyeon Paek - University of Georgia.
Following the short business meeting, Brad Wible, senior commentary editor for Science shared tips for publishing educational research in Science.
After Brad’s talk, we held the SIG Social at the City Tap House.
The SIG again successfully organized interesting and informative round table, poster, and paper sessions.
