BLACK EDUCATION: A Transformative Research
and Action Agenda for the New Century

The American Educational Research Association (AERA) is pleased to hold a book forum and media briefing on its newly released volume, BLACK EDUCATION: A Transformative Research and Action Agenda for the New Century. AERA invites you to this forum where three leading education research scholars will present research issues, findings, and understandings about Black Education. The volume editor, Joyce E. King, has raised the issue of Black Education as a topic of scholarly and social importance throughout the world. Professor King chaired AERA's Commission on Research in Black Education. She is joined by two chapter authors, Carol D. Lee and Beverly Lindsay, who respectively bring substantial expertise on the state of research knowledge in black education nationally and internationally. This forum is a unique opportunity to hear and ask about issues often left unspoken about the nature of education and the education experience for persons of color, as well as the implications of our knowledge for future research and reform. Please join.
