November 2013 At the end of October, the Education Writers Association announced that its 67th National Seminar would be co-hosted by the American Educational Research Association and Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development. The seminar will take place on the university campus in Nashville, Tenn., on May 18–20, 2014.
Gathering approximately 400 journalists, scholars, communications professionals, and newsmakers, the EWA National Seminar is the country’s premier conference for those working at the crossroads of education and news media. AERA has served as co-host since 2012, when EWA made the decision to move from hotel venues to university campuses and put an even greater emphasis on education research as essential to education reporting.
“Our ongoing collaboration with EWA is essential to both organizations,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “We take seriously making the best of research and data accessible to journalists. EWA is equally committed to drawing upon research and evidence as integral to high-quality reporting. The conference is a vehicle to make this happen.”
