The National Center for Education Statistics recently released its Digest of Education Statistics 2012. This annual report compiles statistical information covering American education from prekindergarten through graduate school. Data on a variety of topics, including number of schools, enrollments, educational attainment, and federal funds for education, are included.

Notably, the 2012 Digest finds a 32% increase in college enrollment between 2001 and 2011, from 15.9 million to 21.0 million. Other highlights include an increase in the percentage of adults 25 years and older who completed at least high school, from 84% in 2002 to 88% in 2012, and an increase in the percentage of children in full-day preprimary education from 52% in 2000 to 59% in 2011. The full report is available here.
