1. Graduate Student Poster Session SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED to August 30. Graduate students--Remember to submit your proposals for Division H's Graduate Student Poster Session at the 2014 Annual Conference. As described previously, we are assembling a poster session specifically for graduate students, but this cannot be populated by submissions made through the AERA on-line system. So...we are asking you to send submissions directly to our graduate student representatives, Ruhan Circi ([email protected]) and Matthew Lavery ([email protected]).

 

 

2. Division H Submissions for 2014. The program committee reports that Division H received a little less that 300 submissions. This is fewer than last year. AERA reports submissions are down in general. Also, we're asking for graduate student submissions outside the regular submission system, so this might be affecting our numbers. Our program chair, Rosanne Brown, will provide a more complete count when all is finalized in a couple of weeks.

Over the next couple of weeks the program committee will be assigning proposals to members of our review panels.

3. Job Posting. Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is seeking an Associate Director of Curriculum & Instruction to be a part of the programs team to develop STEM based content that utilizes project-based strategies to support the learning of K-5 students in a nation-wide network. All interested and qualified applicants must submit their cover letter and CV to [email protected].

4a. University of CA, Berkeley. The University of CA, Berkeley is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to join the Visualizing to Integrate Student Understanding for All Learners (VISUAL) and Continuous Learning and Automated Scoring in Science (CLASS) projects in science and technology education. 4b. University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. The Department of Geography at the University of the West Indies is seeking to fill one postdoctoral research fellow position. This is a one year appointment funded by the UWI-Trinidad and Tobago Research and Development Impact Fund to examine the educational and employment experiences of school dropouts.
