Why CICCS? Our SIG has a long and storied history of pushing the envelope in educational research in general, and with regard to curriculum studies in particular. Much of what used to be found only in our SIG ten years ago is now routine for Division B and across AERA in general, and this continues to be the case to this day: we make it possible now rather than later. Our commitment is to making it possible for people to find their audience, and a receptive and excited audience at that. We provoke the connections and disjunctions between and among exploratory and innovative practices of scholarship in curriculum  and cultural studies. And this is the best place to find other scholars who are also crossing borders, redefining the post in post-research, committed to arts-based inquiry, arguing against post-post-arts-based inquiry, etc.

Join our SIG if you want to talk theoretically as transformation of practice, or if your concrete educational practices are theoretically provocative, or simply of you want to explore the potential for research that is both curriculum studies AND cultural studies, while also being neither curriculum studies nor cultural studies.
