Message from the Chair
Welcome! The Classroom Observation SIG aims to exchange ideas, information, and tools related to conducting observations in educational settings.  We invite you to help us build a more vibrant community of evaluators, researchers, educators, and others interested in improving this vital method of educational research.

Our wine and cheese mixer at last year's AERA meeting in Denver was a great success! Please consider joining us for what is sure to be another enjoyable event in New Orleans in 2011.

In the meantime, feel free to visit the Research for Better Schools website (www.rbs.org) for a list of downloadable classroom observation protocols that we culled online. Click the heading "Special Topics" to see instruments from organizations such as Learning Point, Horizon, and the University of Minnesota (creators of the CTEP protocol that many evaluators use in the field).  We are open to adding more resources to this page, so feel free to contact me if there are tools you'd like to add.
